Bruno Comby, President of Environmentalists for Nuclear: I discovered a new local radiation hot spot in France in nature (publicly accessible) near the former Areva uranium mine of Lodeve. The radiation count there goes up to 4.8 microSv per hour, that’s a 100 times more than in the middle of the Salagou lake, and 50 times more than the usual background radiation, but still 20 times less than I measured inside an inhabited house in Ramsar near the Caspian sea.
Opportunity to discuss global warming on PBS (Llewellyn King, John Shanahan, Bruno Comby, Calvin Beisner) USofA France30.Jun.2018
Llewellyn King, White House Chronicle, John Shanahan and Bruno Comby, Environmentalists for Nuclear, Calvin Beisner, Cornwall Alliance: This is a discussion of possibilities for a program/series on PBS TV to explore the topic of man-made global warming. The idea would be welcomed by the public. Message 1 is from Llewellyn King. Message 2 is a reply from John Shanahan with suggestions for a program or series. Message 3 is an excellent summary of this topic by Bruno Comby. Message 4 has excellent questions by Calvin Beisner. Don't miss the significance and subtitles of the pictures.
Bruno Comby, President of Environmentalists for Nuclear: Michael Shellenberger, Founder - President of Environmental Progress ran in the primary election for governor of California in June, 2018. This letter praises him for his high principles and goals for a better world.
Bruno Comby, nuclear engineer, Founder-President of Environmentalists for Nuclear - International, in French, Association des Ecologistes Pour le Nucléaire, http://ecolo.org: This is a report of Bruno Comby's visit to Ramsar, Iran in 2006 to document one of the world's highest levels of naturally occurring radiation and the lives of people and animals living there. Results are that high doses of radiation spread out over time, i.e. relatively low radiation dose rate, show no detrimental signs. The people are living above average life times. This concept needs to be incorporated into design and operation of nuclear power plants and nuclear medicine. The Linear No-Threshold model is not appropriate for low dose and low dose rates.
