We “know” that the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is reaching historically dangerous levels. (In fact, we have, these past centuries, been living through a CO2 famine. We “know” that on the subject of climate change, the “science is settled”.

Two outstanding leaders in the movement to encourage people everywhere to respect the environment, Patrick Moore, Co-Founder of Greenpeace (now estranged from this organization) and Bruno Comby, Founder-President of Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy - International, enjoyed a wilderness experience with members of their families in Canada. They discussed the role of natural nuclear energy in Earth's history.

Patrick Moore, Ph.D. Ecology: This study looks at the positive environmental effects of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a topic which has been well established in the scientific literature but which is far too often ignored in current discussions about man-made climate change policy. All life is carbon based and the primary source of this carbon is CO2 in the atmosphere. The combustion of fossil fuels for energy to power human civilization has reversed the downward trend in CO2. It promises to bring CO2 back to levels that are likely to foster an increase in the growth rate and biomass of plants, including food crops and trees.

America’s nuclear energy plants are a vital asset providing reliable, carbon-free electricity to tens of millions of households and businesses around the country. The ANS circulated a petition authored by a 3rd party. It is to be sent to the White House to support existing nuclear power plants. Physics Professor Emeritus, William Happer, Princeton University and Physics Professor Emeritus Howard Hayden, University of Connecticut support nuclear power but refuse to sign the petition because it improperly demonizes carbon dioxide from fossil fuels. Dr. Theodore Rockwell, in 2010, explains that the issue of CO2 from fossil fuels ranks 9th among priorities for the American public with regard to benefits of nuclear power.
